Thank you to all our Apsley and Be A Lifeline Donors
We have been humbled by the support of donors, who contributed to our Apsley office and throughout our “Be A Lifeline” campaign in December. We were able to support all the immediate food and transportation needs of the community and as a direct result of your generosity, we are continuing our commitment to providing greater ease to the residents of North Kawartha, beyond the loss of their only grocery store.
We would also like to express a special thank you to the task force created by the Economic Development Cooperative (EDC) that involved municipal leaders, cottage association members and members of the public. They helped us promote the Be A Lifeline campaign, getting the information out to those who could help.
All these enhanced supports are available to all residents of North Kawartha, no matter their age.
Bus Service Ends - Volunteer Drivers Continue
Please be advised the last scheduled date for bus use for grocery shopping to NoFrills in Bancroft will be Tuesday, March 30th. We are incredibly grateful for the support to the community from Hamilton Bus Lines who donated the bus free of charge to North Kawartha residents since December 7.

We will continue to support the grocery needs through our volunteer transportation program. We would like to remind you that free transportation services related to food security are in effect until we have a new grocery store, and encourage our community members to reach out if needed. We do require 2 business days’ notice to schedule a drive, and if assistance in planning is needed for shopping trips, our staff and volunteers are happy to help.
