May 19th - Personal Support Worker (PSW) Day
May 29th, 2020

Today, Community Care Recognizes Our Personal Support Workers

May 19th is the designated annual day to celebrate Personal Support Workers (PSW). The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the remarkable work of PSWs and deepened public support for frontline healthcare. We thank our PSWs each and every day, but on this PSW Day, Community Care is especially proud to recognize our dedicated colleagues who care for clients and their caregivers.

Did you know that Community Care has a team of PSWs?

Our PSWs ensure that frail and vulnerable adults can continue to live safely and independently at home. They do this by helping patients to settle in at home on the day they are discharged from the hospital through our Home at Last service. They accompany people living with complex needs who would not otherwise be able to medical appointments through our Access to Primary Care service.   Through our Home First initiative, they provide respite care for caregivers of vulnerable seniors recently discharged from the hospital.

On behalf of the clients and the caregivers in our community, we would like to thank our team of PSWs, Cathy, Jutta, Nedra, Penny, and Wendy.  We appreciate your kindness and professional support.  You make our community a healthier place.
