This program recognizes the mutual benefits which arise when seniors and young people work - or play - together.

• Students spend time with seniors learning to knit, gardening and participating in interviews or historical walks.
• The annual Grandparent of the Year award is given to encourage students in grades 4, 5 and 6 to write an essay explaining why their grandparent is special. This recognition event is held during National Senior Month in June.
