Funding
Community Care Peterborough is partly funded, for some of its services, by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, City of Peterborough, County of Peterborough and the United Way of Peterborough and District.

We also rely on the on-going, generous support of individuals through donations, planned giving and fundraising activities. Many local contributions are also made each year by service clubs, businesses, foundations and community groups.

Community Care is a charitable organization and issues income tax receipts.

Community Care gratefully acknowledges the financial support (for special projects) of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, which receives annually $100 million in government funding generated through Ontario's charity casino initiative.

Please Support Us With A Donation!
Community Care Peterborough is a non-profit, charitable organization. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation, setting up a corporate-giving campaign, or donating your firm's facilities or resources for a fundraiser or participating in our planned giving program.

One of the easiest ways to provide ongoing support for Community Care is to establish monthly giving. Simply send us a blank cheque marked "VOID" along with your written instructions about the monthly amount you wish to donate. Your donation can then be paid directly to us on a monthly basis.

You may also choose to help through our online donation system. This option has the choice of a one time or recurring donation and you may also make the donation in memory of a loved one. Please click one of the buttons to the left, any amount helps. Thank you!

Planned Giving
Planned Giving is any gift or bequest that is arranged now to provide funds in the future. It is your opportunity to invest in the future of your community.

A planned gift helps secure the future of the people who are cared for by Community Care. You can feel the satisfaction of helping others while also taking advantage of the financial and tax breaks available through planned giving.

Types of Planned Giving

  1. Wills: A bequest to Community Care in your will is the simplest and most common way to arrange a planned gift. There are different types of bequests. Your lawyer or estate planner can help you decide which is best for you.
  2. Gifts of Insurance: A gift of life insurance is another easy way to support Community Care. Almost any type of life insurance can be used as a charitable gift by naming Community Care Peterborough as the owner or beneficiary of your policy.
  3. Charitable Annuities: Donors may choose to give Community Care a gift or donation of a sum of money, with which an annuity is purchased. The donor receives an income, usually for the rest of his or her life. On the death of the donor, Community Care receives the balance of the annuity. An appropriate tax deduction (receipt) is available at the time the annuity is purchased.
