Not A Buckhorn Beer Run
March 23rd, 2018

Jim Squire's "Not A Buckhorn Beer Run" is taking place on Saturday, April 14th to support Community Care Peterborough Buckhorn Office

Greetings,
Quite a while ago I let you know I had started a training program in preparation for my fundraiser for Community Care. For this fundraiser I walk from my home in Hill Estates to the LCBO store in Buckhorn and return for a total of 9 kilometres.
Going to Europe to train, as most elite athletes do, really paid off. I returned five pounds lighter and in the best condition of my life. Unfortunately, this session took place in September and since returning, being exposed to home cooking and a complete lack of exercise, I've gained 15 pounds and am completely out of shape.

Good news is that the maple syrup season has started early and the sap has been running well for almost two weeks. This means long days, lots of exercise, less eating and hopefully, weight loss and proved conditioning.

Whether or not this happens doesn't matter as I still plan on doing the walk. I normally do it at the end of April but this year am moving it up to Saturday, April 14th. I'll be doing dinner theatre at the Buckhorn Community Centre the last two weekends of April so will be quite busy. If you happen to be taking in dinner theatre this April I remind you, no tomatoes are allowed !!!!!

As in the past, there will be a draw for a litre of my awarding winning homemade maple syrup (as determined by my grandchildren and previous winners). For each $10 of sponsorship your name will be placed in the hat for the draw. Tax receipts will be issued by Community Care for donations of $10 or more.

If you wish to sponsor me , cash or cheques are accepted with cheques payable to Community Care Peterborough. Donations may be left at our local office marked to my attention, mailed to me at Box 105, Buckhorn, ON, K0L 1J0, or given to me directly.

As a result of the generous support from sponsors, we have raised a total of $5510 the past two years. I sincerely appreciate the support you have given to Community Care in the past and in my effort to raise money for such a worthwhile cause and look forward to your support this year.

Should you know of anyone who might be interested in becoming a sponsor please pass this information on to them.

Cheers,

Jim
